How it works

Before the crew arrives, we run the sale.

01

You reach out

Text or call us at (844) B4U-DEMO. Let us know the property situation - the estate, what's in the home, and whether a renovation or demolition is planned. Photos or a walkthrough video help us assess quickly.

02

We plan one coordinated sale

A Before U Demo advisor evaluates both the structural materials and the estate contents. We design a single sale event that handles both - promoted to our buyer network, organized on-site, and managed start to finish.

03

Buyers take it. You get paid.

Our Demo Pro runs the event. Buyers purchase and remove what they want. You receive proceeds from the sale - and a property that's dramatically easier and cheaper to demo or renovate.

FAQ

Before you demo, here's what to know

Does Before U Demo do standalone estate sales?

No - and it's important to be upfront about that. Before U Demo specializes in pre-demolition and pre-renovation material recovery. We include estate cleanout as part of a sale when the property is also heading toward a gut rehab, renovation, or full tear-down. If the estate involves a property that will be renovated or demolished, we can typically handle both the structural materials and the personal property in one coordinated event. If you're looking for a traditional estate sale company focused purely on household contents, we're happy to point you toward the right resource.

How does it work when there are both personal items and structural materials?

When a property heading toward renovation or demolition also contains estate contents - furniture, appliances, personal property - we can incorporate both into a single sale event. Buyers attend knowing there's a mix of structural salvage and household goods. We organize, price, and promote the combined sale to our buyer network. One event, one settlement. It's typically more efficient than running a traditional estate sale and a separate pre-demo sale independently.

The property is going through probate - can you still help?

Yes, we work with estates in probate regularly. The key is knowing your timeline - probate can affect when the property is accessible and when a sale can be scheduled. As long as the authorized executor or administrator is coordinating with us and the property is heading toward renovation or demolition, we can plan around your legal process. The earlier you reach out, the more flexibility we have.

What if the family wants to keep some items - can the sale work around that?

Absolutely. You decide what's included in the sale. Before the event is organized and promoted, we'll go through what's available and you can set aside anything the family wants to keep. The sale only covers what you've designated as available. This is common - families often want to retain specific furniture, heirlooms, or personal items before opening the property to buyers.

How much notice do you need, and when is it too late to call?

Ideally 4-6 weeks before the demo or renovation start date gives us the best window to organize and promote the sale. That said, we've worked with tighter timelines when needed. If you're within 2-3 weeks of a scheduled demolition and the estate is still in the property, reach out immediately - we'll tell you honestly what's feasible. A quick call or text costs nothing.
